CuraScribe Project
The company is an LA-based start-up in the healthcare & tech industry that aims to eliminate the doctor’s time spent charting by creating an innovative and groundbreaking platform, unseen before in the medical industry.
We designed and built the first web and mobile platform that connects doctors with virtual scribes, helping doctors save time, focus entirely on the patient's health, and store confidential information safely.
Time is money, and when it comes to doctors, time can also be saving someone's life. Have you ever imagined how much time doctors invest in the documentation for each patient's medical record? Curascribe is a virtual scribe medical platform whose goal is to save doctors time and help them focus entirely on the patient's health, leaving EMRs, government, and insurance regulations in the hands of their virtual scribes.

MegaLabs Project
We designed and built a chatbot that is trained to answer any question about their drugs’ leaflets, to all consumer types. The chat can understand human natural language, and it is accessible via web and mobile apps, or social network chat interfaces, such as Facebook and Whatsapp.
The process:
1. Product strategy: Finding a solution
Megalabs came to us with the problem and the idea of solving it with an advanced chatbot that could answer all customer questions. They also came with a lot of doubts, but the most important one was: is this feasible?
This was our starting point: validating if we could build a chatbot that could interpret all questions correctly and give the right answers without errors, contemplating we’re dealing with a very delicate subject, and that a mistake here could lead to a health catastrophe.
2. Product Design: Designing a user experience
We’ve all dealt with terrible chatbots, and we know how frustrating it can be. The decisive factor in chatbots is whether they are able to have a fluent conversation with users. This doesn’t just imply answering the questions correctly but also being smooth during the whole process of consultation.
3. Product Development: Developing and training the chatbot
The platform we decided to use is Watson Assistant and is provided by IBM. Watson Assistant includes natural language processing and artificial intelligence to enable the creation of contextual chatbots. During the active-development stage, we worked in two-week sprints, following Scrum.

Tinnitus-doc telemedicine Project
We developed the first telemedicine app that helps cure tinnitus patients worldwide. Patients receive remote and personalized medical treatments by downloading the app and using their headphones to hear the adjusted therapeutic sounds their physicians created for them. Here, physicians and patients can see the historical evolution to understand their standing point, get valuable insights and motivate patients to boost their engagement.
The Project:
We worked as the doctor´s tech partner and developed the first telemedicine app that helps cure tinnitus patients worldwide in the most practical and efficient way. We created an app that:
- Allowed patients to receive remote and personalized medical treatments for tinnitus by experts in the field.
- Creates and adjusts therapeutic sounds using the latest technologies to provide the best treatment possible.
- Patients engage actively and are motivated to continue their treatments as constant as possible.
- Physicians and patients can graphically see the historic evolution so they can understand clearly their standing point and get valuable insights on how to proceed to get the optimum result.

Bestbuy Project
The Project
Centennials may not know this, but Influencers have always existed, and we used to call them bloggers in the 2000s. Best Buy was visionary and started collaborating with Myspace and Blogspot's influencers back then by gifting them products to talk about on their social media.
To find collaborations, Best Buy had an exclusive blogger platform, where bloggers subscribed to partake in the different promotion opportunities. Bloggers who were admitted to the platform and accepted for the promotion broadcasted the product on their social media. In exchange, Best Buy rewarded them with gift cards.
In 2018, the platform was completely outdated and obsolete for modern social media influencers. Best Buy decided they wanted to bring it back to life by re-thinking the features and redesigning the entire solution.
That's when Light-it came in. We were in charge of developing and designing the renewed site. There were many things to fix and rebuild. They needed to add new features and improve existing ones. Another critical task was working on enhancing performance and stabilizing it. We also adjusted the website to BestBuy's new brand image. Most importantly, we adapted the platform to the contemporary lifestyle, mobile-first, and the latest trending social media channels, such as Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and Vimeo.

dlocal Project
dLocal - Shopify integration
One of dLocal's turning points towards becoming a unicorn was their integration with Shopify, which we developed here at Light-it. Shopify is the largest e-commerce cloud-based tool used by companies that range from small businesses to Fortune 500, such as Unilever, Sephora, The Economist, or Tesla. Shopify has processed over $8 billion in sales and hosted over 16 million shoppers.
The Shopify plugin we developed allows Shopify's over 1,000,000+ stores to integrate the dLocal Payment Gateway effortlessly and reach the most relevant payment methods for emerging markets, boosting conversion rates. It enables international merchants accept local payment methods and currencies, track and analize the payments processing, review balances, deliver refunds and chargebacks, among other services.

BootVision Project
Overview
The process of booting vehicles is complex and time-consuming, so we created BootVision, a platform that allowed Risetek to automate the whole process, offer 24/7 customer support, and get constant reports to identify better insights. BootVision allowed Risetek to increase efficiencies, simplify operations and significantly improve customer satisfaction.
The Project
We conceived, designed, and developed BootVision, a platform that revolutionizes vehicle immobilizations, the act of placing a wheel clamp (boot) on a car to inhibit its ability to move until the owner settles up fines and fees with an entity. BootVision resolves the whole flow — From field agents booting cars procedures, to customers paying and releasing boots, customer representatives assistance system, reporting, and much more.
Getting your car booted is very stressful, without even mentioning all the tedious and time-consuming bureaucratic steps must follow to unlock your vehicle. Moreover, the process from Risetek’s side was old-fashioned and ineficient. Thus, we created BootVision to optimize this whole process and improve the experience for both, Risetek and people going through the boot release process.
In a nutshell, BootVision allows Risetek and its staff to be more efficient and effective by automating operations, gaining flexibility, and getting reports that are crucial for improving their service. On top of that, BootVision allows Risetek to onboard new operations in other cities and universities within just minutes and without depending on a dev team. On the other hand, BootVision offers an unprecedented process in which vehicle owners can complete the boot release by themselves within just minutes following some simple and automated steps. Indeed, vehicle owners can pay, release and return the boot on their own. BootVision clearly brings in uncountable benefits for all involved parts. Let’s see how we took up the project, from ideation to launch.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of a software design company that provides web design services.
What challenge were you trying to address with Light-it?
We needed additional web development resources to help us develop a freelancer job search system. We specifically needed help with a subscription payment platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Light-it provided us with UX/IUI design services using SketchUp and a Vue.js framework to execute the frontend development. They also provided backend development in PHP web development services — Light-it helped with our Laravel project. For the payment system specifically, Light-it used the Stripe API. Once the project was complete, Light-it handled some maintenance.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five teammates from Light-it, and the project manager was our main point of contact.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested $50,000 with Light-it.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Light-it was from June 2019–February 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Light-it’s team boosted our productivity — by having these extra resources, we could execute projects and meet our timelines and goals. Overall, Light-it was an excellent team to work with and executed our project well.
How did Light-it perform from a project management standpoint?
Light-it managed the project well, and we communicated via Slack and emails. We also had multiple project meetings during the week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Light-it’s used their experience and expertise in Laravel and UI development to bring great development ideas to the table and then executed them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any concrete suggestions for improvement for Light-it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d advise customers to have a thoughtful business plan ready and keep their end goals in mind because if Light-it has that information, they’ll meet the client’s project goals.

IT Support for Online Travel Management Company
"Light-it can put themselves in our shoes and understand our requirements."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the consulting CIO and CTO at an online travel management firm for B2B customers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Light-it?
Our former technology resources weren’t performing well, and they built our platform badly. We were looking for a new team to develop our product and fix the issues we had from our previous vendor’s work.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Light-it provided us with a solid team of resources with managed services capabilities. They have different skill sets, including frontend development, backend development, environment development, design, and more.
First, Light-it conducted a technology assessment of our existing platform. They identified recoverable parts and looked at what needed to be rebuilt. After that, they thought of ways how they could improve our product. They’ve executed from there, and they’ve been developing our product since then.
They use PHP and Python for the backend and React for the frontend. The platform is available as a white label — there’s a web option, and it can also be consumed as an API.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with 10 resources. Alan (CEO) is our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Light-it?
They reached out to our CEO. They were flexible with our requirements, so we decided to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $150,000–$200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve started working together in August 2021, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Light-it has successfully produced a solution that meets our requirements. We’re positive that it’ll perform better than the competition once it goes public.
They’ve understood our problems and goals and provided the right person to help us fix our issues. Their screening processes are highly structured and thorough. All the resources they’ve recommended have performed exceptionally well.
How did Light-it perform from a project management standpoint?
Light-it is outstanding at project management. We’ve had a tight timeline, and they’ve gone above and beyond to deliver and meet our deadline without compromising their work’s quality. They collaborate exceptionally well as a team.
We use Slack and Atlassian to collaborate. We have three stand-up meetings per week for general status and daily stand-ups for details.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Light-it can put themselves in our shoes and understand our requirements — they ensure that they provide exactly what we need. They’re not afraid to tell us if we’re asking for the wrong thing. We’ve had some tough conversations, but they’ve always been positive. In addition, their team is very flexible in resolving staffing issues.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure you understand the difference between a vendor and a partner, and treat Light-it as a partner.

Custom Software & App Development for Healthcare Startup
"I'm really happy with everything they've done for us — they've done a great job."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-founder and head of business development at a healthcare startup. We provide virtual scribing services for busy healthcare providers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Light-it?
We needed help with the development of an internal software platform and a customer-facing application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Light-it helped me develop an iOS app for doctors and healthcare providers. The app has a recording functionality for doctors to record information about their patients and then send the recording to our scribes team. It’s also HIPAA-secure and meets all the privacy and compliance expectations.
We finished up version one of our app in January 2021. They currently provide ongoing maintenance for our servers, and we’re in the process of developing an additional version of the app.
Light-it’s team also helped us develop an internal platform for our team members, where they can log in and see the recordings that came through. It was a more complicated project because it needed to interact with hardware. They had some familiarity with how the platform should work, but we were all learning how to make the hardware part work with it.
Their team built a web-based platform and a Google Chrome Extension that interacted with a foot pedal. The foot pedal would help our scribe’s team control the audios with functionalities like playing, pausing, fast-forwarding, or rewinding it.
What is the team composition?
We primarily work with Martin (Co-Founder), who served as our main point of contact and account manager. He then manages with members of his team to finish up all the aspects of the project.
How did you come to work with Light-it?
One of our consultants worked closely with Light-it and recommended them to us, so we decided to give them a discovery call. We chose Light-it based on the quality of the projects they produced in the past, and their affordable prices compared to other companies. Since we’re a small startup, it was important for us to have quality and affordability.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $65,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Light-it in June 2020, and it’s an ongoing project.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were really happy with the first version of the app. The app is exactly what we needed it to be. The design is extremely simple to understand. Our providers can just input the patient’s information, do the audio recording, and send it directly to our team.
Light-it had intelligent and creative solutions for the bugs that had to be fixed. For instance, the Google Chrome extension wasn’t something we initially planned. However, when we mentioned we would be using a foot pedal, they suggested it — it was a good solution.
How did Light-it perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated with Light-it through Slack and weekly video calls. They are very good at meeting deadlines and flexible when it comes to extending them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One of the things that have impressed me the most is Light-it’s willingness to listen to what we have in mind for our product. Martin explained the industry standards and how he thought the product should work. However, he always happily accommodated if we had a different idea for it, based on our users’ needs. He’s done a good job walking the line between knowing the industry standards and taking our feedback, to find a balanced solution that would work for our users.
We’ve relied a lot on Martin to educate us on the process of developing. Even though we are not developers and don’t have an in-house development team to do all that for us, he has led us through it. We are learning about the things that we can deliver to help their team in the development process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything they could improve. I’m really happy with everything they’ve done for us — they’ve done a great job.

The first phase was an investigation, where they studied both documentations in order to have a good picture of the possible solutions. Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Realtor at Fortune International Realty, widely recognized as a leading luxury real estate organization in South Florida.
For what projects/services did your company hire Light-it?
We hired Light-it to help us define the requirements and develop our property management platform. They help us with the platform's validation, development and design. They also suggested some changes based on data they got from the MVP that made the platform even better.
What were your goals for this project?
We have many clients that own several properties and we were having a hard time organizing the duties. We wanted a platform that could help us manage payments, maturities, contracts, insurances, etc, more efficiently. We also wanted our clients to get some important information on the platform.
How did you select this vendor?
I already knew there were very talented people in Uruguay related to technology, so I made some research on software companies and had some calls with different vendors. I finally chose Light-it because they didn't only offer good quality software, they also provided services such as validation, nice design and user experience, and proposal of different solutions.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
At first, we had a discovery phase, where we made several activities that led us to find the real problem in order to discover different solutions. We chose the more accurate one and they built the prototype for product validation. Based on this feedback they designed and developed the MVP. Even though we already use the platform, we're still adding functionalities based on the data they get from users.
What was the team composition?
I'm not exactly sure. The PM was Javier and he was the one I talked with every time needed. The rest of the team was made up of around 3 developers and one designer.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We optimized management times by 60% and recovered a 5% monthly budget that we spent on fines and surcharges due to management disorder. This made us much more efficient, and our customers perceived this change in a good way.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We had one call every two weeks in which we planned and prioritized the new features. It was very organized and Javier was very welcoming and available every time I had doubts. I ended up learning a lot about software development, organization and real value.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The best thing about Light-it is that they didn't only develop what I requested them to do, they also suggested changes, features and other great ideas that really added value to my business. Another great thing is that they always prototyped the functionalities before fully implementing them, this helped us prioritize and make some adjustments.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Nothing to mention. I'm very happy with the results and the kindness of Light-it team. I'm looking forward to keeping on working with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I work in the company that imports cars in Uruguay, we are the exclusive representatives of the brand. I'm one of the managers.
For what projects/services did your company hire Light-it?
We needed a complex system to manage our company. The system can manage imports/exports, both for vehicles and replacement parts, stock, employees, user service, and more. They were involved in consultancy, requirements definition, development, support and more.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of the project was to improve the organization of the whole company. Before, we had separated legacy systems for every different area and it was a mess to manage everything.
After developing an all-in-one software solution, it’s way easier to keep the company working smoothly and well organized. This also let us get amazing statistics using all the data collected from activity.
How did you select this vendor?
We were evaluating different vendors from Uruguay. We chose Light-it since they showed commitment and were willing from the first moment to get involved in the ideation of the system, and not only in the development.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
First stage was about evaluating our needs, they call it “Roadmapping”. It consists in several meetings between us so that they can fully understand our business, our problems and how to solve them.
After the first stage was concluded, development started. They constantly upload new versions to the staging server so that we can try new features and give them feedback.
This way of working is really effective to us so we can constantly straighten the course of the project. Their service includes consultancy, design, development and support.
What was the team composition?
1 PM, 3 developers and 1 designer.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We were experiencing many inefficiencies due to lack of organization and optimization of resources. Unifying our system let us solve communication issues, automate several processes and focus ourselves on the important matters of the company instead of daily issues.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Alan was the project manager, he was outstanding. We had one meeting every two weeks where he showed us the progress of the project, ask any questions related to the company and discussed the way we should continue. He was always willing to help and explain.
What did you find most impressive about this company?

For what projects/services did your company hire Light-it?
We engaged Light-it to develop an innovative HR platform.
What were your goals for this project?
My company hoped to give candidates a new and transparent way of finding jobs. We also wanted to provide companies with the tools for finding the right candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner. We hoped to achieve this by developing a platform on which both candidates and companies could easily register and create profiles.
How did you select this vendor?
We evaluated many vendors. Although Light-it’s quote exceeded our budget, we chose to work with them after failed engagements with freelancers.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Our collaboration began with two roadmapping sessions. Once we defined the platform’s main requirements, we worked in two-week sprints. Light-it has overseen the entire design and development process. They have supplied growth hacking techniques, server management, and maintenance. They provide ongoing support.

We work with a project manager and two developers.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Light-it has provided us with several growth hacking techniques, one of which enables job candidates to share their CV on LinkedIn. This technique helped us register 1,200 candidates on the day of the platform launch and more than 3,000 in the platform's first week. 50 companies registered over the first month, and many of them bought search plans.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Before the platform launch, our project manager delivered several new versions for us to review. Light-it is a receptive and organized partner. We communicate via Slack, Trello, and WhatsApp.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Light-it’s capabilities in roadmapping and growth hacking have been critical to the project’s success. Their team has truly helped us build the HR platform we wanted and obtain the visibility we expected. We are extremely happy with the results and plan to continue improving the platform with them as our partner.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There is nothing to mention here.

"I’ve never worked with an offshore team that provided such good results."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and principal of a consulting group. We provide strategic consulting services for product development and marketing. We focus on B2C and B2B software digital products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Light-it?
I needed help stabilizing a legacy system for a client. I wanted a firm to help with the roadmap and new feature sets.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I worked with them to build out backlogs, stories, and schedules. Then, we worked together to design and develop those feature sets. The work ranged from UI/UX to full stack development in PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL. We then delivered the work in stages to the client.
The platform supports management of influencer marketing activities in major U.S. specialty retailers. The users can recruit, vet, and manage influencers, and then deliver programs and work compensation to those influencers through the platform.
What is the team composition?
The team was around three people in total.
How did you come to work with Light-it?
We used another development shop from Uruguay for a previous engagement and were impressed by the talent pool in the area. I’m not sure how I got their contact information, but it may have been through another company’s recommendation.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere between $20,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2018. Phase one is complete, but I continue to work with them on development projects. I’ve also recommended them to other consultancy companies.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re now in a much stronger position with the client. They were thrilled with the work, as were we. The work to develop and stabilize the platform is ongoing, and we may ultimately build out a new platform to replace it.
Light-it helped us strengthen this relationship, and the real value they brought to the project was in their strategic design and development practice. They were insightful, concise, and efficient, and their process was even more valuable than the technology they brought to bear.
How did Light-it perform from a project management standpoint?
Physically, we were never in the same room together, but the strength of their communication was outstanding. They understood the project and asked relevant questions. They distilled all the important information into digestible stories, deployed all their work on time, and adhered to a high standard. I’ve never worked with an offshore team that provided such good results. Most of our communication was through Google Hangouts, phone, email, Slack, and Trello.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The two things that stand out about their service are their responsiveness and their creative solutions. They were very collaborative, and they delivered solutions that went beyond our specifications and were extremely impactful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing springs to mind; I don’t have any recommendations for them.
Light-it’s resources boosted the client’s productivity and helped them meet project goals and deadlines. The Light-it team used their Laravel and UI experience to provide and execute project suggestions. They managed the project well and communicated with the client in multiple weekly meetings.
